Manually Selecting Items for Lists and DataCard

Under the Select button in the Map Selections pane of the Lists/Selections tab, select the type of items for which to create a list (Pipelines, Fields, Wells, etc.) and then drag the map to select the items to include in the list or click individual items.

Attach lists to the map and change their colors, descriptions, and other attributes. Lists can act as custom map layers that you display, query, inspect, and more.

To view extensions of various lists, click List File Extensions.

To manually select items

  1. Using the Ribbon toolbar, with the Lists/Selections tab displayed, click the Select drop-down arrow, which is found in the Map Selections group, and then select the type of list to create.

The corresponding icon that denotes the layer you selected (, , , etc.) appears in the toolbar above the Select drop-down list. This button is highlighted when Point and Click mode is enabled.

The cursor appears as follows: .

  1. Either click the items on the map to include in the list. When the cursor is hovered over a map item, a tooltip appears displaying details about that item. To configure Inspect details, see Related Topics below.

    Drag to select all of the items in a region. To select items beyond the current extents of your map, either change the map scale, or while in list select mode (), navigate to the unselected items using the buttons in the Pan & Zoom tab.

Each selected item on the map is highlighted and the Count label that appears in the List tab to the right of the Create List button displays the number of items currently in the list.

To clear an item that is highlighted to include in the list, click the item a second time. To clear all of the selected items, click Clear Selections () in the main toolbar.
